The central quad is a space filled with wonderful mature trees but it wasn’t capturing the energy and enthusiasm of life on the Ursuline College campus. It was time to look at the space with fresh eyes. A “working group” drawn from the college’s administration, teaching staff and students set about exploring options for redevelopment of the space to make it a more active and dynamic gathering place for students and staff. Flexible open lawn areas with gathering spaces and a variety of seating options will create a versatile space for outdoor classes, campus events and special activities. A new accessible walkway between terrace areas will insure that the quad is a place easily available to all students and staff. Construction is slated for 2022.
